MoveConnected Privacy Policy

Version 2026-09-PP-v5 · Effective September 15, 2026

MoveConnected ("we," "us") operates moveconnected.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the site, how we use it, and how you can control or delete it. It does not cover the contractors we list — we have no relationship with them — or any third-party site we link to.

MoveConnected is currently a sole proprietorship operated by Blake Faulkenberry in Texas. If that changes (for example, if MoveConnected forms an LLC), this policy will be updated to name the new legal entity.

Information you give us

Account. If you create an account: your name, email address, and a password. Your password is hashed before storage — we never store it in plain text.

Property address. When you upload an inspection report or search for contractors, you give us the property address, either typed or chosen from Google's address autocomplete.

Your inspection report. This is the one that matters most, so here it is in plain language: when you upload a PDF or Word document, we read it into memory and extract its text — the file itself is never written to our servers or any disk. That text (which can include the property address, your inspector's notes, and anything else written in the report) is sent to OpenAI, our AI provider, to identify repair items. We keep the extracted results only for the current session (about 30 minutes). If you are signed in, they are saved to your account automatically when you open the contractor list (the report, plus the property address and the repair categories you chose) or when you buy an upgrade (the report). You can delete anything saved to your account, at any time, from My Account.

Support messages and beta feedback. If you contact support, we keep your name, email, and message so we can respond. If you submit beta feedback, we keep your star rating, optional comment, and the page it was about — tied to your account if you're signed in, otherwise anonymous.

Payment information. If you ever make a purchase, checkout is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted page. Stripe's checkout collects your billing address and phone number along with your card details. We never see or store your card number, and we keep only Stripe's own reference ID for the transaction.

Information we collect automatically

  • Session data. If you create an account, your session record includes the IP address and browser/user-agent string of the device you're signed in from.
  • Abuse protection. To stop anyone overloading the site or running up its costs, we count how often each IP address uses features such as sign-in, address lookup, contractor search, uploads, and email. Those counts are kept only temporarily in server memory — never saved to our database or written to our logs.
  • Analytics. We don't use an analytics or tracking tool. Until September 15, 2026, the site loaded GoDaddy's analytics script, which set three cookies (_tccl_visitor, _tccl_visit and _scc_session) and, if you accepted the cookie banner, recorded which links and buttons you clicked. It has been removed, and the site now deletes those cookies and the old consent record from your browser when you visit.
  • Cookies and browser storage. A cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser also stores your moving checklist progress on your own device, and — if you're asked to sign in partway through an analysis — a short note of what you were working on (the analysis reference, the property address and the items you picked) so the site can pick up where you left off. That note is deleted once it's used or when you close the tab.

How we use it

  • To run the service: analyze your inspection report, find contractors near your address, save what you ask us to save, and respond to support requests.
  • To improve the product, using aggregated or de-identified usage data.
  • To detect fraud or abuse and enforce our Terms of Use.
  • As required by law.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We do share it with the service providers who make the product work:

WhoWhat they receiveWhy
OpenAIThe text of your inspection report (up to roughly 180,000 characters), which can include your property addressTo extract repair items from your report
Google (Geocoding, Places, and Address Autocomplete APIs)The property address you enter, and address fragments as you typeTo locate your property and find nearby contractors
StripeName, email, phone number, billing address, and payment details, collected directly on Stripe's own pageTo process any purchase
SendGridRecipient email address, property address, and report contents (for emailed reports); your name, email, and message (for support requests)To deliver transactional email
Our hosting providerEverything needed to run the site and databaseTo operate the service

Address lookups and contractor listings use Google Maps Platform, so the Google Privacy Policy also applies to the information Google receives.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect someone's safety, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business — in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information under the new owner.

AI processing of your documents

When you upload an inspection report, we read the file in memory and extract its text; the file itself is never written to our servers. We send that text to OpenAI (currently using their gpt-4o-mini model) for analysis, and it returns a structured list of repair items. Under OpenAI's standard API terms, your content is not used to train their models. We have not yet independently verified OpenAI's exact data-retention window for our account — we will update this section with that specific detail once we have.

The output is an AI-generated summary, not a professional inspection, engineering opinion, or repair estimate. It can miss items, misread them, or describe them imprecisely — always verify it against your full report and consult your inspector or a licensed professional before making decisions.

How long we keep it

  • In-progress analysis (before you save anything): kept in server memory for about 30 minutes, then discarded.
  • Saved directories and issues reports: kept until you delete them individually, or until you delete your account.
  • Account information: kept until you delete your account.
  • Support and beta feedback: kept as part of our records; contact us if you'd like yours removed.

We do not currently run an automated process to purge old session records or delete data after a fixed period — deletion today is something you do yourself, using the tools below, or something we do for you on request.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete a saved directory or issues report anytime from My Account — this permanently removes that row from our database, immediately.
  • Delete your account from the "Delete my account" section of My Account — this permanently removes your account record, your login credentials, every saved directory and issues report, any credit balance and transaction records, all active sessions, and any outstanding email-verification or password-reset tokens. Beta feedback you submitted is kept but is unlinked from you, so it is no longer associated with your identity. This cannot be undone.
  • Contact us at support@moveconnected.com for anything not covered by the tools above, including a copy of the data we hold about you.

We commit to honoring these for every user, not just where a specific law requires it. Separately: under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, MoveConnected currently qualifies as a small business and does not sell sensitive personal data — including the precise property locations we geocode — for any consideration, and we do not intend to.

Security

We use TLS encryption in transit, hash passwords before storing them, and never write uploaded report files to disk. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe's hosted checkout, so we never handle raw card data. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information you share with us.

Children's privacy

MoveConnected is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@moveconnected.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update the version number and effective date above whenever this policy changes, and post the revised version here. Material changes will be noted on this page.
